This course provides an introduction to programming, the Python language and Python tools. You will be introduced to core programming concepts like data structures, conditionals, loops, variables, and functions. This free online course includes an overview of the various tools available for writing and running Python, to get you coding quickly. It also provides you with coding exercises/assessments where you will learn to design and write fully-functional Python programs using commonly used data structures, custom functions, and reading/writing to files. This course may be more robust than some other introductory Python courses, as it delves deeper into certain essential programming topics and tools. Also, this free online course introduces the basics of Python 3, including conditional execution and iteration as control structures, and strings and lists as data structures. Python is a great first language, it has a large programming community with excellent online documentation and endless libraries and packages. Python has world-wide popularity, it is powerful and flexible. This free online course is for everyone; newcomers or old timers to Python programming. If you need a refresher on Python tools or if you may have had some exposure to Python programming but want a more in-depth exposition and vocabulary for describing and reasoning about programs.
