This course, Idioms Usage, Pronunciation and Intonation, will teach you to hear, understand, and use English phrasal verbs, idioms, and collocations. It will also help improve your intonation and pronunciation through a practice called "shadowing".
This is a complete course, approximately the equivalent of what you would learn in a college-level speaking and listening class over the course of a semester (10-15 weeks). We will complete 13 lessons, each covering about a dozen expressions taken from the textbook Essential Idioms in English: Phrasal Verbs and Collocations (fifth edition) by Robert J. Dixson (ISBN 0-13-141176-4). While the textbook is not required, it is highly recommended. Each lesson includes:
* A video lesson
*Text exercises and answers (also on video)
*A sentence scramble exercise and answers (also on video)
*A dictation exercise and answers (also on video)
*A shadowing exercise on video
*A lesson test and answers
