The strategic management process is a full set of commitments, decisions, and actions required for a firm to achieve strategic competitiveness and earn above-average returns. With this course, you will learn the decision-making process in Strategic Management and the four main activities of learning organizations. You will also look into internal and external analysis and learn how strategic flexibility helps an organization respond to various demands and opportunities existing in a dynamic and uncertain competitive environment.
You will then study Mintzberg's Modes of Strategic Decision Making which include entrepreneurial mode, adaptive mode, planning mode, and logical incrementalization. You will look into the different aspects of corporate planning and cover the conceptual model of corporate planning. This course will also discuss how organizations can change. You will study the 7-S Framework from McKinsey which include structure, strategy, systems, skills, style, staff and shared values as well as the role of each component.
